Timinig is Everything

We Humans have been called the "beings with time in them." Our Self-consciousness is intimately tied up with our consciousness of time—both our awareness of the expiration of time, i.e. death, as well as the way time frames life. Dali claimed that Americans loved his melting clocks because—in a country where everyone carried a pocket watch, and structured their life around schedules and appointments—they showed the illusory nature of time. Time seems to be forever marching forward, but does that mean that life is merely pure becoming? Is there anything Human that is un-timely?
