Intimately tied up with the concept of time is
History. Is History repeating or is it progressing? Is there a "right-side" of History; and can anything ever truly be relegated to its "dustbin"? The two most powerful Ideologies of the 20th century— Progressivism and Marxism—both rely heavily on the idea that we are moving in a direction toward some sort of
perfectability. This claim also lies at the heart of the new Transhumanism movement, as well. But can we truly
overcome the past—and more importantly, do we even really want to?
